Arsenal fans refuse to forgive Robin van Persie after ex-Man Utd star makes Premier League title prediction

ARSENAL fans might be dreaming about winning the title, but that hasn't stopped them from still feeling bitter towards former ace Robin van Persie.

Van Persie famously left Arsenal for Manchester United in 2012 where he won the only Premier League title of his career after scoring 26 goals and adding 15 assists for United in the 2012/13 season.

The Dutchman, now a coach at Feyenoord, may have been attempting to build bridges with his former fan base when he tipped Arsenal to win the title.

RVP, 39, told : "If you look at this period of time this is where every point really counts.

"They had a couple of difficult games [but] they got the three points there so that is what a champions team is made of. They've proven that.

"The last stretch is always the difficult one, so interesting to see.

"But my personal feeling is they will go for it and that they will win the league. It's been a while so I'm happy for them to win it."

However, Arsenal fans were not in a forgiving mood.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "We don’t care about this guy chatting about us. Could’ve gone down as a club legend but sacrificed his career legacy for one trophy."

A second wrote: "This guyyyy man, stick to one team."

One fan declared: "Sorry RVP but we're not friends anymore."

A fourth typed: "We don’t know who u are stop talking about us."

Another said: "We don't care man."

A sixth added: "But he didn’t believe back in the days…😕."

Meanwhile, another said: "Oh, the little boy inside him got a realisation?"

Arsenal are on track for their first title since 2004, sitting eight points clear of second place Manchester City with just ten games left to play.

United legend Patrice Evra has revealed how Van Persie was surprised by how much harder the Red Devils trained compared to Arsenal when he joined.

Evra said: "Robin, he'd say, 'Patrice, I've never seen people so professional. Training the way you're training in the training session'.

"He'd say he'd finish the training session, everyone is in the gym. Before training in the gym, after training in the gym.

"That's why he was like, 'When I was playing at Arsenal, I was still on the pitch and I'd see kids with convertible cars already going to Harrods or whatever'."
