The Scottish pop sensation has worn Hoops colours and chanted fan lyrics to the club's tunes in the past.

And he couldn't help but grin away when he met up with Liel Abada, and the Celtic winger asked him for a photo.

Abada is on his way back to Glasgow after withdrawing from international duty with the Israel squad through injury.

It's suggested he could face up to two weeks on the sidelines but he'll be assessed for Celtic's upcoming fixtures against Ross County, Rangers and Kilmarnock.

But despite his setback, the 21-year-old seems to be in good spirits as he shared a snap of him meeting one of the country's biggest names on social media.

After bumping into Capaldi at what seems to be an airport, he revealed he is a big fan of the musician and they clearly have mutual respect for each other going by the Scots' grin.

Sharing the snap on his Instagram story, he captioned it: "The best! It was nice to meet you @lewiscapaldi."

Capaldi has declared his love for the Hoops regularly in the past and was asked which club he supported at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy in 2020.

He responded: "Celtic football club, Glasgow's green and white! Know what I mean?"

Capaldi uploaded a video to social media while wearing the club's green and white colours last month too.

Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda is in a race against time for him to be fit to face Rangers at Parkhead on April 8.

The forward has been sent back to Glasgow early after struggling with an injury prior to his call-up.

A Japan FA statement read: "We would like to inform you that Daizen Maeda (Celtic) will leave the Samurai Blue due to an injury as they prepare for Colombia on Tuesday March 28.

"There is no call-up of a player to replace Maeda."
