Oleksandr Usyk reveals why he stopped Tyson Fury negotiations and what purse split REALLY was as talks collapsed

In an interview with , Usyk lifted the lid on previous negotiations, saying: "I see that nothing is going on, he is trying to play us, and I said, 'That's all, bye'."

Usyk’s agent Egis Klimas insisted Fury kept making more demands which made reaching a compromise impossible.

That was despite a reported 70-30 split in the purse, something Usyk later confirmed.

Usyk revealed the real split in the purse before brutally putting down Fury's claim of being "king".

He added: "He says, '70/30, I am the king. It's all thanks to me.' I don't respond to that. I understand that this is a mental game.

"The king is the king. And the king does not need to shout that he is the king."

Rather than Fury, Usyk will defend his belts against Brit Daniel Dubois in Wroclaw, Poland on August 26.

Prior to hopes of a unification bout between Fury and Usyk, fans dreamed of a Battle of Britain match up comprising of the Gypsy King and Anthony Joshua.

But on his recent Netflix docu-series, Fury claimed that AJ will never fight him.

He said: "I cannot get him in the ring for any amount of money.

"I've offered him world title shots and extremely large amounts of money, but he ain't going to make the fight.

"Me and my team, my lawyers, have come to the conclusion and accepted the fact that AJ won't fight me for any money or any titles.

"I saw footage of him recently training by punching a mattress – I'm not sure if it was taken off TikTok or one of his social media accounts, but I've no idea what was going on there."
