  • Man Utd stats

Manchester United are fourth in the Premier League table with the same points as third-placed Newcastle.

United have won 16 out of 28 Prem matches and lost seven, which is the worst return out of the top four.

But the Red Devils have already matched last season's final tally of 16 league victories.

And the Manchester giants should be feeling confident today as they have lost just one of their last 23 home league, and won 15 along the way.

  • Head to Head

Manchester United and Everton's first ever meeting took place way back in 1948 during a First Division clash that saw the former win 2-0 at home.

Since then, the two sides have faced off a total of 153 times with United winning a majority of 73 games along the way, compared to the Toffees' 44 wins.

The Red Devils have won 38 Premier League matches against today's opponent and a 39th win would tie the record for most wins against the same opponent, currently held by United against Tottenham.

Everton face a daunting task as they have won just one of their past 29 Prem fixtures at Old Trafford, and lost 20 along the way.

United's bid for third place, which appears to be the most realistic finish, continues.

But the Red Devils face a daunting task ahead of them with the Toffees fighting tooth and nail to avoid relegation.

The hosts' manager Erik ten Hag has been issued a major injury boost as Christian Eriksen has returned to full training after overcoming an ankle injury.

Eriksen is available for the first time since January, when he sustained the injury against Reading in the FA Cup.

However, Luke Shaw, who recently put pen to paper on a new contract, is still out with a thigh problem.

And Ten hag will be without key man Casemiro, who continues to serve a suspension.

Donny van de Beek remains sidelined with a knee injury and Alejandro Garnacho is still dealing with an ankle problem.

Everton boss Sean Dyche, on the other hand, will be missing Abdoulaye Doucoure due to suspension.

Doucoure was controversially sent off against Tottenham and is serving a three-game ban.

But Ruben Vinagre has overcome an Achilles problem, whereas star man Dominic Calvert-Lewin has yet to rebuild full fitness.

Andros Townsend and Andy Lonergan are also out with a ligament and knee injury respectively.
