DON'T BE RASH

However, there are claims that the goal should not count as the Red Devils star was offside.

Rashford was in an offside position when Antony played a cross into the box and appearing not to interfere with the play.

But he had made his way back onside to latch on to Marcel Sabitzer's knockdown and fire home.

And fans are convinced that Rashford gained an unfair advantage by benefitting from being offside.

One angry fans tweeted: "Offside. He came form an offside position so he had an advantage."

A second commented: "Rashford was offside. It reminded me of Aguero's disallowed goal against Tottenham in the championship game."

A third wrote: "Offside stops at Old Trafford lol."

A fourth said: "The defenders won’t be near him because he’s offside."

While a fifth added: "This was just before Rashford scores for Manchester Utd against Brentford. Is he not actively involved in play when he takes his shot seconds later and therefore offside?

"In other words, if he wasn't in this position to begin with he wouldn't have scored?"

: "When I was a referee that would have been flagged for offside.

"But now they allow the play to go on and he clearly does not get involved with play. He does not effect the goalkeeper and there are no defenders around him.

"The ball is played to Sabitzer and when it is, Rashford is back onside. I think it is good as we want to see goals."
