Nani flexed his abs in an upload from the Portuguese Football Federation's headquarters in Lisbon.

The former United star is currently recovering from injury after rupturing his ACL in January while in action for Australian side Melbourne Victory.

And Nani appears to be in top shape as his rehabilitation continued with a training session in Portugal.

He captioned his post: "The journey may be difficult, but the reward will be worth it!

"Great to be back at the Cidade do Futebol for a training session. Focused on coming back stronger!"

Despite the forward out with a long-term injury, some fans in the comments section were left questioning why Nani was training on the other side of the world in Portugal, and not in Melbourne.

One wrote: "Should be training in Melbourne with your CONTRACTED team…."

Another added: "Why aren’t you training with @gomvfc [Melbourne Victory]?"

And a third said: "Why don’t you come back to Melbourne where you should be and 'focus on coming back stronger'."

Nani joined the Aussie side on a two-year deal last summer after leaving Italian outfit Venezia.

He played 230 games for the Red Devils before leaving Old Trafford for good in 2015 to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce following a loan spell with Sporting CP in his native Portugal.

During his time with United Nani won four Premier League titles, the Champions League, the League Cup twice and the Club World Cup.

He has also played 112 times for Portugal.
