CRISTIANO RONALDO was booked for raging at the referee during Al-Nassr's 2-0 win over Al-Ta'ee.

And his angry protestations were met with a caution from the man in the middle.

But moments later Ronaldo was handed what he had been calling for as the VAR instructed the referee to look at the incident on the monitor.

He proceeded to do so and subsequently awarded the spot kick.

Ronaldo dispatched from 12 yards to give Al-Nassr the lead seven minutes into the second period.

He has now bagged 13 goals in 17 appearances for the Saudi side.

But it may not be enough to secure Ronaldo and Al-Nassr the league title.

They sit three points adrift of table toppers Al-Ittihad with three games remaining.

They did close the gap on Tuesday as Al Hilal held Al-Ittihad to a 2-2 draw thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser from Brazilian forward Michael.

The 27-year-old attacker then celebrated the late goal by performing Ronaldo's famous 'Siu' move.

The Portuguese icon joined Al-Nassr midway through this season in an astonishing £173-million-a-year deal.

And he could be joined in Saudi by old rival Lionel Messi this summer as the Argentine prepares to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The Barcelona legend has been heavily linked with a move to Al-Nassr's rivals Al Hilal - with a remarkable £350m-a-year offer reportedly on the table.
