Sheikh Jassim ‘would scrap Erik ten Hag rule’ if he wins Man Utd takeover race after boss’ Cristiano Ronaldo reaction
THE potental new Manchester United owner reportedly plans to scrap Erik ten Hag's new rule if he takes over at Old Trafford.
Sheikh Jassim is in a battle with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and other investors to buy the club from the Glazer family.
The Qatari banker has offered around £5.5billion for United with plans to wipe out the club's £500million debt and invest in the overdue renovation of the 76,000-seater stadium.
And if he did come out on top, the Qatari bidder would likely ditch the pay limit introduced by Ten Hag in the wake of the Cristiano Ronaldo saga.
Ronaldo, who earned an initial £480,000 per week upon his return to Manchester, was axed following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan in which he publicly criticised the club, the manager and his team-mates.
In response to that, reports emerged suggested Ten Hag would implement a new rule capping wages at £200,000 per week to avoid a culture of jealousy in the United dressing room.

The ploy was criticised by Gary Neville who claimed it would price the club out of landing their primary transfer targets.
And now Team Talk state Sheikh Jassim will rip up that idea as part of his grand plans to try and sign some of the world's top talents.
The likes of PSG pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have both been linked with United - but there is no way of signing either on contracts worth £200,000 per week, roughly a third of their current deals.
And the reported plans to ditch the manager's new scheme if Sheikh Jassim comes in could set the pair on a collision course.

Ten Hag has enjoyed a fine debut season with United, leading them to Carabao Cup glory and qualifying for the Champions League.
But after clinching a place in the top four, Ten Hag declared he needs "better players" at his disposal to challenge for the title.
The ex-Ajax boss said: "It is a good base to build on but standards have to go up and demands have to rise.
"We have to work in the summer with this squad but we also have to strengthen in the window with this squad.
"We want to compete for the title but it has to be realistic. It is what is there.
"Now, we are far away so there is a lot of work to do but we need better players if want to compete for the highest."
United have been linked with signing a host of huge players and could shell out as much as £365m on FIVE stars.
The man at the top of the list is Harry Kane with the likes of Declan Rice, Mason Mount, Kim Min-jae and Jeremie Frimpong among others supposedly being targeted.
