Blackout law prohibits Premier League or FA Cup games from being broadcasted live on TV on Saturdays between 2:45 pm and 5:15 pm.

This first occurred in the 1960s to encourage fans to go and watch football matches in person.

Another reason why games all start at the same time is so that they can all be shown on TV.
