Erik ten Hag slammed by fans as TV cameras capture ‘filthy habit’ at full-time of Man Utd’s FA Cup final defeat
ERIK TEN HAG has been slammed by viewers after he was caught performing a “filthy habit” after suffering Wembley heartbreak.
Premier League champions Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup Final this afternoon.
The showpiece burst into life in record fashion as Ilkay Gundogan fired City ahead after just 12 SECONDS – the fastest-ever goal scored in FA Cup Final history.
But after starting on cloud nine, City fans were furious around 13 minutes later when Casemiro escaped a red card after an alleged stamp on Manuel Akanji.
Fans were even more angry before the break when Jack Grealish was harshly judged to have handled in the area, allowing Bruno Fernandes to equalise from the penalty spot.
But then it was United players fuming after Victor Lindelof was struck by an object thrown by a fan while celebrating that goal.
Gundogan rifled City back into the lead shortly after the break as the action refused to slow down and it remained 2-1 as they clinched the Double.
Now it is only Inter Milan in the Champions League Final next week that stands in the way of them and an historic Treble.
However, as they celebrated the Double, BBC’s cameras showed Ten Hag walking on to the pitch following the whistle and pulling a piece of chewing gum out of his mouth and throwing it to the ground.
Despite it being a regular occurrence with players doing it during games, a number of viewers took to Twitter to vent their disgust at the Dutchman.

One wrote: “Pick your chewing gum up Ten Hag you mucky t***. Don’t leave it for someone else to tread in or for a cleaner to pick up.”
Another asked: “Who’s gonna pick that chewing gum up Ten Hag?”
A fellow fan wrote: “I know there are bigger things to focus on at Wembley but I do wish ten Hag wouldn’t chuck his chewing gum on the pitch. #FilthyHabit.”
While another said: “Could always stick it on his head lol #badloser #filthyhabit #chewinggum #ManchesterUnited #FACupFinal.”
Ten Hag, who was also mocked for not having enough time to open his chewing gum packet before the deadlock was broken, said after the game: “We are broken, disappointed of course, but I said I am proud of my team.
“We did very well, we conceded two soft goals but we were in the game. There was a great spirit and very good organisation.
“They were tough goals, they were so soft and avoidable. When you play aginst City and you don’t concede almost nothing from open play it is a big credit for the team but if you concede goals like this it is disappointing.
“This team showed resilience, character and personality. We know we have a way to go but this will make us better. It was a test for us, we didn’t succeed but we can take a lot of positives into next season.”
