The 1-0 win over the Serie A side, thanks to Rodri's strike, added to the Citizens Premier League and FA Cup victories.

Ferguson was the first to achieve the feat with Manchester United in the 1998/99 season.

The Red Devils completed the treble with a dramatic Champions League win over Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

After the game, the City manager revealed that the Scot had messaged him ahead of the game.

This run of picking up silverware has added to his pre-existing accolades that he managed at Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

While the manager of the Catalonian outfit, Guardiola also won the Spanish version of the treble in 2009 as he led his side to the La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League titles.

The Spaniard is the first manager to win a treble with two different clubs.

Guardiola has collected three Champions League titles so far in his managerial career.

This record is matched by Zinedine Zidane and only beaten by four-time winner Carlo Ancelotti.
