Conor McGregor could be stripped of UFC featherweight title just a few weeks after becoming the first fighter to hold two belts
Conor McGregor became the first UFC fighter to hold two belts after beating Eddie Alvarez earlier this month
TWO-WEIGHT UFC champion Conor McGregor could be STRIPPED of one of his belts within days, according to reports in the US.
Leading MMA Reporter has suggested McGregor could soon be forced to relinquish the UFC featherweight title that he won last December.
The superstar Dubliner became the UFC's first simultaneous two-weight world champion at UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden, when he knocked out defending champ Eddie Alvarez in the second round to win the lightweight title.
And after his historic win, McGregor hinted at taking time off to spend time with his girlfriend Dee Devlin, who is expecting the couple's first child.
McGregor claimed his first undisputed title last December when he knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds to win the UFC's 145lb title at UFC 194.
And it's that title that the UFC may look to reclaim from the Irishman in a bid to revitalise a division that has effectively been put on hold for almost a full year.
'The Notorious' Irishman hasn't fought at featherweight since winning the title last year, with the world's top 145-pounders becoming increasingly frustrated by the absence of title opportunities in their division.
And it seems UFC bosses may be ready to force McGregor to give up just featherweight belt, with interim champion Aldo set to be promoted to the full champion once more.
