Southampton vs Everton team news: Dusan Tadic out with a broken toe and Gareth Barry returns after one match ban

SOUTHAMPTON will host Everton at St Mary's on Sunday as Ronald Koeman returns to the Saints for the first time since leaving the club for Merseyside in a controversial deal in the summer.

The Toffees have picked up just one win in the last seven league games and the pressure is mounting on the Dutchman after fans displayed signs of unrest last weekend following the 1-1 draw with a struggling Swansea side.

Southampton manager Claude Puel, who's side lost 1-0 away to Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday, have won just one game after being involved in European action mid-week so far this season.

Puel's team sit 11th in the Premier League table and have scored just 12 goals to date - only four teams have a lower goals tally at this stage.

Captain Jose Fonte is on course to return after a foot injury, but Dusan Tadic is likely to miss out due to the broken nose he sustained playing for Serbia during the international break.

Left-back Matt Targett is also a doubt as he continues to recover from an ongoing hamstring injury he picked up during Southampton's 3-1 victory against Burnley last month.

Meanwhile Everton will welcome back midfielder Gareth Barry having now served a one-game suspension last weekend.

With no additional injury concerns, Koeman could have somewhat of a selection headache on his hands as he looks to build on their disappointing form.

Seventh place Everton have won just six of a possible 21 points in their last seven matches despite a positive start to their 2016/17 Premier League campaign.
