But the former Arsenal forward, who scored 31 goals in 82 games for the Gunners, has made an unusual job choice as he enters the twilight of his footballing career.

The former German international is organising a four-day music festival called Glucksgefuhle which translates to Happy Feelings.

The festival will take place on the legendary F1 track Hockenheim.

Over 100,000 fans are expected to attend between September 14 and 17.

Acts will include top DJs Steve Aoki and Paul van Dyk, as well as ATB - who had a UK No.1 with "9 PM (Till I Come)."

If the German, Polish and Arsenal links didn't give it away yet, the answer to the mystery player turned festival organiser is of course... Lukas Podolski.

The Polish-born German forward helped Arsenal end their nine year trophy drought as part of the squad that won the 2014 FA Cup.

That summer, he was also part of the Germany squad that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
