Tottenham initially saw a joint bid for Maddison and Harvey Barnes rejected by the Foxes.

But they are now set to complete a move for Maddison after Leicester accepted a £40million bid.

The two clubs are now believed to be finalising details on how the payment will be structured, as well as the add-ons involved.

But Maddison has reportedly already agreed personal terms ahead of the switch.

And he could be confirmed as a Tottenham player once he completes a medical, which is set to take place today.

Spurs have pushed through the move before July 1 to comply with FFP regulations.

The money behind this goes against last season's Champions League and Prem pot. They of course failed to make Europe at all for the upcoming campaign.

He will become the second new face to arrive at the North Londoners this summer, following Tuesday's signing of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

New boss Ange Postecoglou has also been boosted by the permanent signing of loanee Dejan Kulusevski for £25.7m.

While Pedro Porro will also see his loan from Sporting Lisbon turned permanent for £39m in the coming days.

Postecoglou will push for more signings this summer, with centre-back a priority position.

Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba and Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo are among their potential targets.

Meanwhile Leicester are targeting a move for Tottenham star Harry Winks following relegation.

The former England international has just one year remaining on his contract with the Lilywhites, but he is expected to leave as part of a major squad overhaul before the 2023-24 campaign kicks off.

Tottenham have also knocked back a bid worth £60.2million plus add-ons from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.

But the striker is believed to have reached an agreement over personal terms, with his contract set to expire next summer.
