It's been a relatively quiet season for sackings.

Last term saw a record-breaking 14 bosses given their marching orders, breaking the previous record of 10 first set in 2013-14 and repeated in 2017-18 and 2021-22.

Julen Lopetegui, Paul Heckingbottom, Steve Cooper and Roy Hodgson were all either axed or left their positions over the past nine months.

Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp also announced his decision to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the current season back in January.

But he will NOT count as a managerial departure unless he exits before Liverpool's final match of the season against Wolves on May 19.

That all leaves Erik ten Hag as the 9/2 favourite for the axe after a disappointing season at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils crashed out of Europe after finishing bottom of their Champions League group, and also exited the Carabao Cup at the round of 16 stage.

Things went from bad to worse on Monday evening as United were outclassed and dismantled 4-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

It was the club's 13th league defeat of the season and leaves United with a -3 goal difference with three matches of the season remaining. They have not finished a season on a minus goal difference since 1989-90 in Division One.

With just one victory in their last seven, United continue to slide down the table into eighth and are at risk of missing out on qualifying for any European competition next season. United have never finished below seventh in Premier League.

And things don't get any easier for the Dutchman with league leaders Arsenal visiting Old Trafford on Sunday before their final two games against Newcastle and Brighton.

Ten Hag does have one ace up his sleeve in the shape of the FA Cup final against Manchester City, and that's perhaps all that is keeping him in a job right now.

There are already several markets on who will replace Ten Hag this summer with Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate the leading contenders at 2/1 and 3/1.

If no manager leaves before kick off on the 19th May 2024 then "No Manager To Leave" (1/3) will be settled as a winner and all other selections as losers.
