Who is Barcelona and England star Lucy Bronze?

Lucy Bronze was born Lucia Roberta Tough Bronze on October 28, 1991.

The Lioness is from Berwick-Upon-tweed, England.

Her mother is English, her father is Portuguese and she has two siblings.

She has an older brother Jorge and a younger sister Sophie.

Lucy attended the Duchess's Community High School in Alnwick with Lucy Staniforth who would become her future England teammate.

The football star was a gifted athlete in her youth, participating in many sports.

She reached national finals in cross country and pentathlon and even once aimed to compete at the Olympics in the 800-metre race.

Lucy also had academic achievements, notably receiving a bronze award in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust Challenge.

In 2009 after finishing sixth form early, Lucy moved to North Carolina where she played football at the college level.

She returned to the UK after a year of study to complete her sports science degree at Leeds Metropolitan University.

What other clubs has Lucy Bronze played for?

During her senior football career, Lucy has played for a variety of teams.

Her career has seen her feature for Sunderland, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Olympique Lyonnais.

She has earned over 180 domestic senior caps and more than 90 England caps.

Lucy now plays for Barcelona FC as well as playing internationally for England.

When did Lucy Bronze make her debut for England?

Lucy made her youth team England debut aged 15 in 2007 for the under-17 squad and has represented England at every major tournament since.

She made her senior professional England debut in 2013, appearing over 100 times for the team and scoring 12 goals.

Lucy also represented Team GB in 2021 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
