Two Pep Guardiola disciples fighting for loan transfer for wonderkid who Man City think is ‘too good for Championship’
ENGLAND Under-21 star Cole Palmer is being chased by two Manchester City old boys — Vincent Kompany of Burnley and Leicester’s Enzo Maresca.
Kompany would love to have Palmer on loan at newly-promoted Clarets but City need to be sure the 21-year-old plays enough.
Maresca also wants a loan deal for the attacker — who can play on either side — though there is a feeling he is too good for the Championship.
City will make a decision when he returns from his break after the Euros triumph.
Palmer was handed his City debut by Guardiola in 2020.
He has gone on to make 38 appearances to date for his boyhood club.
The talented starlet made 25 outings in all competitions last term.
But he was limited to just two Premier League starts, and one in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Burnley will hand keeper James Trafford a stunning £40,000-a-week contract as they bid to buy him from City.
Under-21s hero Trafford has shot to fame and Kompany has talked his money men into investing. The guaranteed fee is £13million plus extras.

Carlisle will qualify for a slice of the deal, which could go as high as £1m.
Trafford spent much of the last 18 months on loan at League One Bolton.
He made 74 appearances in total for Wanderers, helping them win the EFL Trophy and earning their Young Player of the Year award.
