Manchester United target drops transfer hint
Benjamin Pavard appears to have dropped a hint he is eyeing a move to Man Utd.
Following the club's 1-0 win over Wolves, Bayern Munich star Pavard replied to match-winner Raphael Varane.
The World Cup winner posted a pair of fire emojis under Varane's post after his header made the difference on the Red Devils opening matchday.
Pavard will reportedly cost £35m.
Leverkusen complete Kovar transfer
Goalkeeper Matej Kovar has completed a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.
An official statement from the Bundesliga side confirmed the 23-year-old had signed a deal until 2027.
It also revealed he would wear the No17 shirt.
United will reportedly receive £8m from the move.
Neville slams Carragher for changing top four prediction
Gary Neville ridiculed Jamie Carragher after he changed his top-four prediction just one game into the Premier League season.
The pair featured on the first Monday Night Football of the season where their predictions for the season were revealed alongside fellow pundit Karen Carney.
And an eagle-eyed Neville spotted Carragher had already backtracked from the predicitons he made during an appearance on The Overlap.
Carragher tipped Liverpool to finish third on the show but changed his mind for MNF, placing them fourth behind Manchester United.
That shocked Neville who piled into his colleague, saying: "Have you changed your prediction?!
"Hang on last week on something else that we did you put Liverpool above Manchester United. You've switched your teams around.
"You can't change your prediction in a week! I mean seriously?."
O'Neil receives apology for penalty call
Wolves manager Gary O'Neil claimed he received an apology from the PGMOL after his side were denied a late penalty against Manchester United in their 1-0 defeat on Monday.
O'Neil's side could have earned a point if they were awarded a penalty after Andre Onana's clattered into striker Sasa Kalajdzic.
But referee Simon Hooper chose not to award a spot-kick and VAR Michael Salisbury did not tell him to review the incident as he did not consider it a clear and obvious error.
After the game, the Wolves boss said: "I've spoken to Jon Moss and fair play to him, he apologised, said it was a blatant penalty and that it should have been given.
"It probably made me feel worse. When you know you were right about something it makes you feel worse about leaving a game with nothing.
"I don't think the officials are trying to favour one side. I just think it's human nature. If there's a decision you're not sure about, everyone would be impacted by the Old Trafford crowd and the fact it's Manchester United.
"That's why I think VAR should be able to help more in those situations. Before I spoke to Jon Moss I was told it was not a clear and obvious error.
"It looked like the keeper nearly took our centre-forward's head off. If you go for the ball and clatter the player that hard, it is a penalty."
Neville slams Man Utd midfield
Gary Neville ripped into Manchester United's "non-existent midfield" following their 1-0 win over Wolves.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, he said: "Manchester United's midfield was non-existent, it emptied.
"It was a concern. If you watched Man Utd in pre-season, leaving Casemiro on his own when Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes go forward, it looks great.
"But you’ve got to have a balance. And the front three don't really work hard enough in a defensive sense.
"That would have been a real worry because Wolves have got a new manager only four days ago and a lot of misery around how their season may end up, but they’ve been brilliant tonight."
Mason Greenwood demonstration
Furious Manchester United fans protested against Mason Greenwood’s rumoured return at the first match of the season against Wolves at Old Trafford.
The protestors made clear their anger at Greenwood's potential return after charges against him of assault, attempted rape and coercive behaviour were dropped earlier this year.
One female supporter held an expletive-laden poster blasting United's refusal to rule out the striker's return.
It read: "Don't leave the decision up to the women's team, you spineless, motherless f***s."
Others sang protest chants outside Old Trafford before the Red Devils' 1-0 win over Wolves.
The Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case against the former England international in February after "key witnesses" pulled out.
Onana price tag
Everton named their price for Manchester United target Amadou Onana.
According to , United will need to splash £50million for Onana.
The Red Devils are looking to boost their midfield and the Belgium international is among their top targets.
The 21-year-old is seen as an alternative to Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat as negotiations have stalled with the Serie A giants.
Man Utd takeover prediction
Manchester United's unpopular owners the Glazers are going to announce the sale of the club at a staggering £7.3billion.
That is according to Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman, who insists the valuation of football clubs has gone through the roof.
Dalman spoke to US private equity funds and the influence of American investors is driving up the price of clubs in the Premier League and Championship.
The investment banker claims second-tier clubs like Cardiff are valued at three times their revenue, meaning the Bluebirds could now be sold for £100million, rather than a previous valuation of £20m.
And the 65-year-old believes the Glazer family is going to announce a sale of £7.3bn - roughly 10 times United's revenue.
Benjamin Pavard deal
Bayern Munich ace Benjamin Pavard is keen to join Manchester United, who had their first bid rejected from the Bundesliga champions.
Pavard is "fighting" to move to Old Trafford and trying to convince Bayern for the green light.
But United could be put off by the Bavarians' £35million valuation for the versatile defender.
Sky Sports claim the France international will push hard to complete the move even though the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.
FT: Man Utd 1-0 Wolves
Manchester United won their first Premier League match of the season against Wolves at Old Trafford.
Raphael Varane scored United's first goal of the campaign on 76 minutes with a header following a cross by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The visitors, though, were left seething after VAR denied them a late penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
The Red Devils' goalkeeper Andre Onana appeared to have levelled Sasa Kalajdzic but a spot-kick wasn't awarded.

Mason Greenwood protest
Manchester United fans will protest against Mason Greenwood’s potential return before the team’s first Premier League home game tonight against Wolves.
United have yet to decide on Greenwood’s future but there have been rumours claiming he could return after charges of attempted rape and coercive behaviour, as well as assault, were dropped.
The striker has not played for the Red Devils since he was arrested over the allegations in January last year.
One group, called Female Fans Against Mason Greenwood’s Return, issued a full statement earlier this week.
To the decision-makers at the club, remember; this goes beyond football. This decision is a reflection of you, your morals; of who you are as individuals, and as humans.
Will you stand with abusers, or with the abused? History will judge your choices. Make sure you choose well.

But the Old Trafford club is now not expected to announce a decision until the September international break.
