Champions League winner odds: Man City and Arsenal favourites after quarter-final draw, Harry Kane’s Bayern trail
MANCHESTER CITY are short-priced favourites to win the 2023-24 Champions League title.
That's according to bookmakers William Hill, who've updated their betting markets following Friday's quarter-final and semi-final draws in Nyon, Switzerland.
Champions League 2023-24 winner
William Hill odds
- Manchester City 7/4
- Arsenal 9/2
- Real Madrid 11/2
- Bayern Munich 13/2
- Paris Saint-Germain 8/1
- Barcelona 11/1
- Atletico Madrid 14/1
- Borussia Dortmund 20/1
The reigning champions are available at 7/4 having been drawn against 14-time European Cup winners Real Madrid in the final eight.
The pair have crossed swords in the Champions League in the past two seasons with City winning the two-legged tie 5-1 on aggregate last year-- including an emphatic 4-0 win at the Etihad.
However, Real Madrid - who are available at 11/2 - were the winners in 2021-22 when Pep Guardiola's side suffered a remarkable UCL collapse.
The winner of that heavyweight showdown will meet either Arsenal or Harry Kane's Bayern Munich in the competition's semi-final stage.
Premier League leaders Arsenal are priced at 9/2, but will have unhappy memories of their past meetings against the 13/2 Bundesliga champions.
The pair last met in the Champions League in 2017 with Bayern Munich winning both matches 5-1 to secure a whopping 10-2 aggregate win.
Champions League draw
The draws
Quarter-finals (9/10 & 16/17 April)
- Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
- Atletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund
- Real Madrid vs Manchester City
- Paris Saint-Germain vs Barcelona
Semi-finals (30 April/1 May & 7/8 May)
- Atletico / Dortmund vs PSG / Barcelona
- Arsenal / Bayern vs Real Madrid / Man City
The other side of the draw is considered to be much weaker by the bookies.
Atletico Madrid (14/1), who navigated their way past last season's beaten finalists Inter Milan on penalties, take on Borussia Dortmund (20/1).
While Barcelona (11/1) clash with French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain (8/1), now managed by former Barca player and coach, Luis Enrique.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: "The Champions League quarterfinal draws have dealt Arsenal and Manchester City formidable hands, putting Arsenal against German champions Bayern Munich and City against 14-time winners Real Madrid.
"Both English clubs are up against it and their odds have unsurprisingly drifted as a result of Friday morning’s draws. Arsenal have eased from 4/1 to 9/2, whilst City have gone from 13/8 to 7/4.
"Should they navigate these challenges successfully, fate dictates a potential showdown between the two English powerhouses in the semifinals, denying the prospect of another all-English final this year."
