Chelsea in mega blow as Michael Olise snubs £35m transfer to sign new Crystal Palace contract
CHELSEA are set to miss out on a transfer for Michael Olise after he signed a new contract at Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Reports had indicated he had agreed personal terms on a move and that Palace had accepted the £35million fee for his release clause.
However, the move now appears to be off after it was announced Olise had signed a new four-year deal.
Taking to Instagram, Eagles chairman Steve Parish shared a photo alongside the winger.
He captioned the post saying: “I’m absolutely delighted to announce @m.olise has decided to commit his future to Crystal Palace football club and this afternoon signed a new four-year deal with the club.”
He appeared to also take a sly dig at Chelsea with his caption finishing: “@m.olise is an 🦅 ❤️💙🦅🤫.”
Olise seemed to hint his transfer away from Palace was all but sealed when he removed all pictures and mentions of Palace from his Instagram page.
However, while those have still not returned, Olise appears to be staying put at Selhurst Park for the remainder of the window at least.
Olise registered 11 assists last season, with only Bukayo Saka able to better this number among players under the age of 23.

And Chelsea could be set to be dealt with a double blow after it was revealed Palace are considering taking the Blues to a tribunal over how they approached the deal.
The reported how Palace had expressed their anger towards the proceedings of the deal in an unofficial capacity and had formally considered reporting Chelsea over their allegedly illegal approach.
