British taekwondo gold medalist Jade Jones open to UFC switch in the future

Jade Jones is focused on winning third gold in Tokyo 2020 but is tempted by MMA switch

JADE JONES already has two Olympic gold medals to her name as taekwondo champion and she is now tempted to switch to UFC.

Jones wants to add a third gold in Tokyo 2020 after her success in London 2012 and Rio 2016, but its what happens after Japan that has everyone talking.

The 23 year old is open to taking her skills over to UFC to compete with other MMA stars who earn millions in the brutal sport.

As reported by theJones said: ''It's hard to get sponsors and make money in taekwondo, but I just love it.

''Maybe in the future I'll go to MMA after I've retired from taekwondo, but for now, no-one in the sport has ever got three Olympic gold medals, so I have to continue to get that.''

One of the most famous women in UFC American Ronda Rousey took up the sport after winning a Bronze in Judo during the Beijing 2008 Olympics .

Perhaps Jones can consult with Rousey about what the transformation is like from a martial art to MMA and how to make the step transition in the best possible way.

The money that can be made in the sport will tempt any competent fighter and if Jones can make a winning start she would have the full backing Britain behind her.
