The deal will see the two heavyweights go head to head TWICE with one fight being held in Saudi Arabia and one in Africa.

When asked about the deal, Wilder said: “That's the one that's up next.

“I'll be getting in camp for that real soon. It's gonna be a great, great fight between me and him [Anthony Joshua].”

Talks between the American fighter and Joshua started to heat up following AJ’s brutal seventh round knockout of Robert Helenius earlier this month.

The two time world champion and Team GB Olympic gold medallist is looking to get his career back on track after his defeats to Andy Ruiz Jr and Oleksandr Usyk.

A fight between Joshua and Wilder looked inevitable back in 2018 when the pair held all the heavyweight titles.

But nothing ever came to fruition with Wilder going on to fight Tyson Fury instead.

The long-awaited battle is looking like it will take place in January, but there has been nothing confirmed just yet.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has also given an update on the fight, stating that he hopes it will be confirmed in the next few weeks.

He said: “I’ve been to Saudi Arabia twice to negotiate this fight. I’ve had two meetings, three meetings in London.

“I’m not doing it for banter. My instructions from Anthony Joshua [are] ‘I want to fight Deontay Wilder.’
