Arsenal fans fume as details of Folarin Balogun’s transfer to Monaco revealed with striker flying in today to seal move

ARSENAL fans are fuming at the imminent departure of striker Folarin Balogun.

The USA international is on the verge of joining Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco in a deal in the region of £40million.

Balogun, who spent last season on loan with Reims, is set to jet to the Principality TODAY to undergo a medical and seal his return to France.

But the 22-year-old's impending move has enraged some of the Emirates faithful, one of whom tweeted: "Arsenal will regret this."

Another said: ";Folarin is a promising talent.:

And another said: "Shame, I would kept him! All the best!"

One remarked: "Arsenal let a good one go."

Another chimed in: "He’s gonna be huge for Monaco."

One frustrated Gooner said: "He’s better than [Eddie] Nketiah, Arteta this one is on you."

Balogun - who inked a new four-year deal with the Gunners in February 2021 - was expected to stay and fight for his place in Mikel Arteta's starting XI this season.

But nearing departure seemingly suggests that he's been deemed to be surplus to by the Spaniard - despite injury to star striker Gabriel Jesus.

Arteta said last month: "The plan with Flo doesn't change at all.

“But unfortunately, with Gabby, we’re not going to have him.

"We have other options to play with different qualities of players, so we will adapt.”

Arsenal will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Manchester United to the Emirates.
