The Sun exclusively revealed thatare one of two Turkish clubs interested in the goalscorer.

The Süper Lig side have emerged as potential suitors for the forward after the player and Manchester United "mutually agreed" that he would leave.

The decision followed followed his arrest for attempted rape and sexual assault.

Charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive controlling behaviour were dropped in February this year.

If the move to Turkey goes ahead the 21-year-old will be swapping a home in one of Cheshire's elite villages for new climes.

If Greenwood does put pen to paper and sign for Besiktas, he could soon be settling in Bebek.

With a stunning beachfront on the Bosphorus, Bebek will offer a dramatic contrast to the leafy confines of Bowdon and Hale.

However, it now appears that Bebek can easily match the luxury car showrooms and wine bars associated with Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.

Local expert Andy Wilks said to The Sun: "Fashion conscious shoppers can trawl boutiques offering the latest designs from Hugo Boss, Lacoste or Armani while those seeking high-end motors can pick from Ferrari, Range Rover and Maserati dealerships.

"Classy restaurants such as Bebek Balikci and Poseidon offer pricey menus with sea views while nightclub Blackk is popular with Istanbul’s footballers."

Andy suggested that Greenwood would be offered an apartment or house within a gated community.

He said: "As a young single man, Greenwood is likely to be offered an apartment in a gated community complete with facilities such as a swimming pool and gym."

Andy explained that the move to Turkey would present some cultural differences for Greenwood.

He added: "But there are other features of Istanbul life that will be unfamiliar to the former United player.

"He may find his sleep interrupted by the 5 o’clock morning call to pray from the local mosque.

"But he is also likely to experience more enjoyable local customs, such as a night at a meyhane, the traditional restaurants where people spend hours eating mezes – small dishes such as octopus or liver – while knocking back raki, Turkey’s aniseed-flavoured booze."

Andy said that the move to Turkey could potentially offer the young player a route back to a big club in the Premier League or Spain.

He said: "While many big-name footballers end their careers in Turkey, as a young player Greenwood will most likely seek a move elsewhere in time.

"If so, he could follow in the footsteps of players who have cut their teeth in Turkey before earning big-money moves to Europe, such as Cengiz Under, who signed to Roma and now plays for Marseilles, and Caglar Soyuncu, who moved from Leicester City to Atletico Madrid this summer."

The Süper Lig could be the only life-line available to the young star after a string of other clubs appear to have decided against taking him on, due to fears of a fan backlash.

Italian Serie A giants Roma and the Saudi Premier League indicated they were no longer interested in signing the Prem star.

Championship clubs are also believed to be monitoring the situation, but are worried they too would be unable to handle the PR situation.

The Sun understands the backlash has been so severe that Greenwood - who became a dad in July - has been left “devastated."
