Real deal

Real Madrid fans chant ‘Sergio Ramos will score’ just seconds before he heads in stoppage time winner against Deportivo

Galacticos captain heads in another late goal to set record unbeaten run, and the fans saw it coming a mile off

REAL MADRID needed a hero against Deportivo yesterday, and once again their captain stepped up to the mark.

Just a week after nodding in an 89th minute equaliser against Barcelona at the Nou Camp, Sergio Ramos repeated the feat with a stoppage time header to down Depor.

Some say you never know what will happen in football, but the Real Madrid fans behind the goal at the Bernabeu would beg to differ.

As the team prepared to deliver a 92nd minute corner, hundreds of supporters chanted 'Ramos will score a goal'.

And sure enough, the captain headed home to win the game for the Galacticos.

Real Madrid were looking to set a club record 35-game unbeaten run, and things seemed to be going to plan when Alvaro Morata put them in front after 50 minutes.

But the script was very nearly torn apart by a Stoke City player.

Joselu, who is on loan from the Britannia, netted twice in two minutes to give Deportivo a shock lead.

In the 84th minute, Dominican Republic international Mariano Diaz scored his first goal for Real Madrid to put them back on course for the record.

And then Ramos popped up to keep the Champions League winners six points ahead of Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

The win will give the Galacticos a massive boost, particularly as all of their 'BBC' strikeforce were missing.
