NICKLAS BENDTNER'S first East Midlands derby is one he will remember for all the wrong reasons.

The Nottingham Forest striker got the scoring underway in the 33rd minute - for rivals Derby.

A corner for the Rams was flicked on by Johnny Russell and bounced off Bendtner's face and into the net.

Some on Twitter then jokingly labelled him Derby's best striker when he narrowly avoided another own goal, heading against his own post.

The last time Bendtner scored an own goal was at Arsenal, where he suffered more derby day blues, heading a goal for Tottenham in the Gunners' 5-1 League Cup semi-final defeat.

There hasn't been a dull moment at Forest since the man they call 'The Lord' joined in summer.

Just a week earlier, he both scored a goal and missed a penalty in a 2-1 win over Newcastle.

But he was unsurprisingly ridiculed on social media for his display at Pride Park.

Certain players did produce moments of quality for their own teams, such as Derby's Tom Ince.

Ince beat three Nottingham Forest defenders before firing into the top left hand corner.

And Will Hughes rounded things off with Derby's third, tapping in the rebound after Vladimir Stojkovic saved from Russell.
