REAL MADRID made it a club record 35 games unbeaten with a 3-2 win over Deportivo.

But they left it late, coming from 2-1 down to win through a stoppage time header from Sergio Ramos, just as fans at the Bernabeu predicted.

And Deportivo boss Gaizka Garitano was not impressed with the amount of stoppage time added on, claiming that Real Madrid had been handed their own version of Fergie Time.

According to Garitano, officials at the Bernabeu were determined to play on for as long as it took for the Galacticos to find the net.

He said: "When the referee added on five minutes of added time we knew that it was going to be until Madrid scored.

"We have lost. We had it in our hands and that's why we are disgusted. We played a great game."

Real Madrid took the lead on the 50th minute when Alvaro Morata netted, but Stoke City loanee Joselu scored twice in two minutes to hand the visitors a shock 2-1 lead.

Dominican Republic international Mariano Diaz equalised with just over five minutes of normal time remaining, and then came the stoppage time controversy.

However it is difficult to see where the Garitano is coming from as Sergio Ramos' goal came in the 92nd minute.

That meant Deportivo benefited from a longer period of time added on, as the game ultimately finished in the 97th minute.

The win sees Los Blancos remain six points ahead of rivals Barcelona after a similar late Ramos equaliser a week earlier at the Nou Camp.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema missed the match against Deportivo as boss Zinedine Zidane rested them for next week's World Club Cup.

They will first take on Mexican club America in the semi-final of the tournament on Thursday.

If they win that, their likely opponents will be South American champions Atletico Nacional.

The Colombian side could have won a continental double if they had added the Copa Sudamericana to their Copa Libertadores title, but instead forfeited the final to Chapecoense in a wonderful gesture.

Brazilians Chapecoense tragically lost most of their team in a plane crash on the way to Medellin to play the Copa Sudamericana final.
