On a dramatic afternoon at the Emrities the Red Devils were level with the Gunners at halftime.

But Arsenal ended up taking all three points with a 3-1 win after two last-gasp goals by Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus.

It was a disappointing outing for Erik ten Hag's men but for the 20-year-old he still has much to prove in his Man Utd jersey.

the youngster revealed his childhood dreams of playing for the club and what United fans can expect from him.

He said: "My father introduced me when I was young – he was a fan as well.

Hojlund came to "idolise" ex-Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 145 goals in 346 games in two separate spells at Old Trafford.

He continued: "He introduced me to Cristiano and wanted me to idolise him because he has a good mentality and stuff.

"That's the reason why he's there today and why he achieved so much in his career.

"For me, he is the best player ever. Of course he had the talent but in the end, it was about how hard he worked.

"I've seen a few interviews with previous Man Utd players and they all say he wasn't a complete footballer when he came.

"But he was very skilful and developed.";

Hojlund joined Serie A side Atlanta in 2022 and scored nine goals in 36 appearances.

Now the striker hopes to make his mark at Old Trafford and follow in Ronaldo's footsteps.

When asked what he can bring to Ten Hag's side this season he added: "What you can expect from me is hard work and a guy who wants to perform and help the team and want to die for this badge."
