Unemployed ex-Man Utd star Jesse Lingard, 30, ‘set for Premier League return with free transfer close’

FORMER Manchester United Jesse Lingard is reportedly set for a Premier League return.
That’s with West Ham ready to swoop on a free transfer.
Lingard, 30, is without a club after leaving Nottingham Forest over the summer.
He failed to score in 17 Premier League outings as Steve Cooper’s side narrowly avoided the drop.
But the claims Lingard is now set for a return to England’s top flight with West Ham.
The attacker has been training with his former loan side, impressing David Moyes in the process.

The Scot still fondly remembers Lingard’s nine-goal haul during a half-season loan spell in 2021.
And he is now ready to offer Lingard a one-year deal with the option for a second.
However, the West Ham boss wants to be doubly sure Lingard would be committed to his side’s cause, having snubbed the Londoners to join Forest last summer.
Should he return to West Ham, Lingard could face off against former club Forest on November 11.

The Hammers then take on his other old side Man United on December 23.
Lingard started his career at Old Trafford and went on to score 35 goals in 232 games.
He won an FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League during his time with the Red Devils.
And Lingard is sure to be keeping one eye on regaining his England spot back ahead of Euro 2024, having previously been a key player for Gareth Southgate.
