Then the man told Gaspard that he better leave as he was about to rob the place, sending the former WWE star into a frenzy, trying to force the gun out of his hands.

As the attacker was trying to get away, the 280-pound wrestler charged and slammed his head into the exit door, pulled him outside into the street and placed the robber into a rear naked choke hold.

At this point JTG noticed what was happening and phoned the police alerting them to the scene of the crime.

It turned out that the weapon wasn't real, and it was only an air-soft gun.

Speaking afterwards, Shad Gaspard said: "I thought it was a real gun the entire time and honestly, I just didn’t want anyone to get hurt.

"I just kept thinking about how I wanted to make sure I got home to my son."

He also spoke of his initial reaction when the man pulled the weapon out, he said his first thought was: "F**k this, I’m not dying in Florida."
