Ex-Rangers star Ryan Kent summoned for crunch Fenerbahce talks after squad axe
RYAN KENT has been challenged to up his game and reclaim his Fenerbahce spot.
The former Rangers star was summoned to a meeting with boss Ismail Kartal having been dropped from the matchday squad altogether.
Kent, 26, was one of several high profile Ibrox departures at the end of last season.
After much speculation over his next move, the former Liverpool trainee penned a four-year deal with Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer.
Things started well for the winger, who netted in the 5-0 Europa Conference League thumping of FC Zimbru.
But that's his only goal for Fener so far, and Kent has in fact only appeared ONCE in the Turkish Super Lig.
He started their opening league clash with Gazisehir on 13 August but was then an unused substitute for the win over Samsunspor eight days later.
Kent started the 5-1 thrashing of FC Twente back in continental competition on 24 August but was hooked at half-time with the score at 1-1.
And he hasn't appeared at all since.
Kent was left on the bench for the second leg in the Netherlands.

He was subsequently left out altogether for the Super Lig win at Ankaragucu as he struggles to make an impact at his new club.
And now, his boss Kartal has revealed he summoned Kent for a meeting after the decision to drop him.
He confirmed that there was no injury concern, it was completely a tactical decision.
Kartal has urged Kent, however, not to be demoralised and wants him to raise his performance levels and reclaim his position.
Revealing what he said to Kent, Kartal told : "I did not include you in the squad for tactical purposes.
"I said this that day as well. I say it again - other names will not be in the squad one day.
"Don't be demoralised, keep working. As long as you work like this, you will get the jersey."
Kent will be hoping to get another opportunity with the games coming thick and fast after the international break with five games across an 14-day spell.
Fener hose Antalyaspor on league duty on Sunday before getting their Europa Conference League group campaign underway against Nordsjaelland.
