LIVERPOOL flop Arthur Melo has had a stunning career revival after not playing a single Premier League game for the Reds.

The Brazilian midfielder joined Italian outfit Fiorentina on loan from Juventus over the summer.

But after just five games with his new club, Arthur is now said to be considered "untouchable".

Fiorentina currently sit in eighth place after three Serie A games, having won one, drawn one and lost one.

Arthur has started all three of these games, as well as the their two Europa Conference League qualifiers against Rapid Vienna.

It is a stunning turnaround for the 27-year-old after his dismal loan spell to Liverpool last season.

The Reds signed Arthur on loan from Juventus after suffering a midfield injury crisis.

However, Arthur fell foul to an injury of his own and missed over half of the season after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury sustained in training early into the season.

By the time he returned from the sidelines Liverpool's midfield had largely recovered its numbers.

Consequently, Arthur only ended up playing one game for Liverpool - a 13-minute cameo in the Champions League against Napoli in September when Jurgen Klopp's side lost 4-1.

Upon signing for Fiorentina, Arthur admitted his blighted injury history had made things "difficult for him".

However, he insisted: "I am different than before, I am better. I learned a lot and feel in good shape both mentally and physically.

"At Fiorentina I want to win and learn, then we'll see what happens."

Arthur, who has replaced on-loan Manchester United star Sofyan Amrabat at the heart of the Italian side's midfield, has had heavy praise placed on him by club captain Giacamo Bonaventura.

As quoted by , he declared: "Playing with Arthur is a pleasure, he will give us a lot , and he covers his 'new' position perfectly."
