A CZECH club has completed the weirdest transfer of the summer after signing a 22-year-old who has never played football before.

The signing occurred after the boy's father reportedly paid £17,500 to secure his son a place on the team.

The club is FK Usti nad Labem and they play in the Czech third division.

They are currently sixth in the league after taking 10 points in their first six games.

And the team's new recruit has stunned many in the football world.

Football is a sport where talent is nurtured from the youth as players battle through the grassroots to academy programmes before going pro.

But law student Martin Podhajsky has skipped through the stages even with his footie experience being limited to him playing FIFA video games.

The rookie has now registered with the Football Association of the Czech Republic.

has reported the club has made plans for him and he is set to join in training before making his debut.

But there is a bizarre catch to his signing.

The plan is for Podhajsky to play 10 minutes and replace captain Jakub Mares - with the funds from his dad going towards sponsorship.

Kuban continued: "He said himself that he would like to play, then his dad called and things started to move."
