Football legend and ex-Premier League star’s son, 16, signs first professional contract at Barcelona
A FOOTBALL icon’s son has followed in his father’s footsteps and signed for Barcelona.
Shane, 16, penned his first professional contract today and will join the club’s Under-18 side.
The teenager is an attacker, just like his father, and he was on the books of PSG while his dad worked their as a technical director six years ago.
The retired Dutch hero has legendary status at the Nou Camp after helping them clinch the LaLiga title in 1999.
He also won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995 and fired Holland to fourth at the World Cup in 1998.
Shane’s father is Patrick Kluivert.
Kluivert was widely regarded as one of the world’s best strikers in the late 1990s to early 2000s.
The 47-year-old also spent one season in the Premier League with Newcastle during the 2004/05 campaign, scoring 13 goals in all competitions.
Kluivert is now manager of Turkish side Adana Demirspor, who sit ninth in the Super Lig.
As for his starlet son, Shane first joined Barca in 2017 and he has been tipped to be a future star.

The wonderkid has been capped by the Netherlands Under-16 team.
And he already has a deal with Nike after the sportswear brand snapped him up when he was aged just nine.
Kluivert’s other children are also footballers, most notably Justin, 24, who has been capped twice by the national side and is currently playing for Bournemouth.
His other sons Quincy, 26, played for Ajax as a youngster but is now a DJ and Ruben, 22, plays for Dordecht in the Dutch second division.
