Inside Team Europe’s Ryder Cup celebrations as bleary-eyed McIlroy swigs from trophy and Hatton is last man standing
TEAM EUROPE celebrated their Ryder Cup victory in style last night.
A bleary-eyed Rory McIlroy swigged from the iconic trophy in wild scenes.
But it was Tyrrell Hatton who was the last man standing as he enjoyed a nightcap while wearing multicoloured glasses and Ryder Cup pyjamas.
Team Europe romped to victory against Team America in Rome this weekend thanks to an early barnstormer on Friday.
The winners secured a 16.5-11.5 result to reclaim the Ryder Cup.
It was their 14th success against the Americans, and their eighth in the last 11 meetings.
And Team Europe’s stars partied hard into the night after getting the celebrations stared earlier on Sunday.
The players enjoyed a rowdy coach journey away from the course, with McIlroy leading a singing session.
The bleary-eyed Northern Irishman chanted “Europe’s on fire” as he paraded up and down the aisle with the trophy.
Players like Bob McIntyre laughed and cheered as they knocked back the booze, with McIlroy taking a huge swig from the trophy.

And Shane Lowry got involved as he chugged a beer directly out of the cup, with Justin Rose also imbibing from the coveted chalice.
The festivities lasted well into the early hours as the players were joined by their partners to paint the town red.
But it was Hatton who was the last man standing.
A hilarious photo taken in the small hours showed him clutching a beer while wearing multicoloured glasses.
Hatton looked a bit worse for wear after a night of fun.
And Team Europe are sure to be nursing some hangovers this morning as Team America jet back to the States to lick their wounds.
