Leonardo Bonucci: Manchester United and Chelsea target signs new five year deal with Juventus until 2021

Bonucci had been earmarked by former boss Antonio Conte at Chelsea, but is now set to finish his playing days for the Old Lady

LEONARDO BONUCCI has extended his contract with Juventus until 2021 – ending any speculation he could make a move to Manchester United or Chelsea.

The Italy defender, 29, revealed the news on his Twitter feed this morning he had signed on for another five years.

The 29-year-old wrote: “I renewed until 2021! I chose to the team where I became great among the great. Only one objective: to keep winning!”

Bonucci had been earmarked by former boss Antonio Conte at Chelsea, but will is now set to finish his playing days for the Old Lady.

The defender signed for Juve from Bari in 2009 and his since established himself as one of the top centre-backs in the world.

Chelsea are riding high at the top of the Premier League, having won in each of their last 11 Prem games.

Conte said after the Blues’ most recent win, the 1-0 triumph at Crystal Palace on Saturday: “The run is fantastic. Congratulations to my players, not me. I am pleased for them because they deserve this. I see every single moment, every day. It is commitment, the way we prepare for the game and the way they fight. I am pleased for the fans who are fantastic home and away and who push us.
