"And I thought there were three or four players yesterday who were not prepared to roll their sleeves up and gave up far too easily and didn't want to fight."

  • Keane's scathing attack on Martial

Roy Keane has launched a scathing attack on Manchester United flop Anthony Martial.

That’s after telling the flop to “drop down a few leagues.”

Martial, 27, put in another anonymous performance as United were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle on Saturday.

The Irishman said on Sky Sports:“We forgive Martial the fact he scores a goal every 14 years, I forgive a player for that.

“He's touching balls off and gives the ball away cheaply. You may as well go down the leagues.

  • Van de Beek future

  • Carragher on Rashford

Jamie Carragher on Marcus Rashford's performance against Newcastle.

"It was an unacceptable performance, for many reasons. He didn’t play midweek, I’ve been a local player and it isn’t easy," he said on Sky Sports.

"When it’s not going well, it’s your job to fix it and you’ve got to drag those around you. Rashford is now looking like Anthony Martial, you do not stop running for that badge, that shirt and those supporters. Because you’re supposedly one of them."

  • Keane on Rashford

Marcus Rashford is not doing enough for Roy Keane, who delivered a scathing attack on his recent form during punditry on Sky Sports Super Sunday.

He’s a local lad, he’s got the mega deal and that is all well and good. I need a bit more, you run forward no problem but you have to run back. Cover yards. He’s 26 now, he’s not a child anymore. He’s got to set the example. He’s got to lead by example, is he on his own? Absolutely not. He’s one of the experienced players in that dressing room and if he’s not setting the example, not good."

  • Keane stunned on Utd stat

Roy Keane has been left shocked by a horror Manchester United Premier League stat.

Since his appointment last summer, Ten Hag has picked up just one point away to clubs currently in the top nine.

He has lost 11 of 12 matches, including Saturday's defeat at Newcastle, with the only draw coming at Tottenham back in April.

Reacting to the stat, Keane fumed: "That doesn't look real. Is that real? It looks ugly. That looks ugly.

"It's just the amount of goals, we were discussing earlier, six at City, seven at Liverpool, four at Brentford. It's not good.

"They're obviously in a tough place. The manager is under pressure again.

"There were players playing last night for United and you thought they would have been leaving the club in the summer.

"You're still going back to the same players who've been getting United nowhere fast over the last one or two years.

"What's the sign of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

"This groups not going to change and, as I said, if they're not going to work as hard as the opposition, then you're in trouble."

  • French centre back a January target

Jean-Clair Todibo is a target for Man Utd in the January transfer window, according to reports.

Sky journalist Florian Pettenberg made the claim on his X account.

He wrote: "Jean-Clair #Todibo, understand that he remains a candidate for ManUtd in winter! #MUFC A possible transfer of the 23 y/o should not affect a transfer of António #Silva who is still the top target fur summer!"

  • Man Utd's horror stats

Man Utd's cold start to the Christmas period could be about to get worse if a statistical omen is realised when they face Chelsea.

The Red Devils have lost all five games they have played this season against teams in the top half of the table going into the match.

Those defeats have come against Tottenham, Arsenal, Brighton, Man City and now Newcastle.

And means every team they have managed to beat this season have been at the bottom end of the table.

  • Ten Hag reveals Martial argument

Erik ten Hag has revealed why he blasted Anthony Martial during the defeat to Newcastle.

However, Ten Hag insisted the public spat was nothing personal - and was instead an attempt to fire up his struggling squad.

The Dutchman said: "It's not about Anthony Martial, it's about the team.

"I try to energise the team and try to get a reaction from the team in this moment.

"As you see, we had a tough period and when you're coaching you are a little more aggressive, so that's normal."

  • Newcastle vs Man Utd

The Magpies dominated the majority of the match against Man Utd.

  • Man Utd's next five games

The Red Devils have a difficult week ahead as they face Chelsea on Wednesday.

  • Fans fuming after Newcastle defeat

Fuming Manchester United fans let rip after Steve McClaren had to step in after the Newcastle defeat.

The Red Devils fell to a tired 1-0 loss at St James' Park on Saturday night - after having their travel plans thrown into chaos by a cancelled flight.

Anthony Gordon's tap-in sealed the victory for the Magpies, although it was a far more dominant display than the scoreline suggested.

And a late disallowed equaliser only heaped further misery on the travelling United fans making the 300-mile round trip.

To make things even worse, some of the United players did not even go over to acknowledge the supporters on the freezing-cold December night after the full-time whistle blew at 10pm.

But McClaren reportedly intercepted the flops, telling them to turn around and applaud the fans in the stand.

ESPN reporter Rob Dawson said: "Worst bit about tonight was that Steve McClaren had to wait at the top of the tunnel to tell some United players to turn around and applaud the fans. They've travelled hundreds of miles on a freezing day to watch that dross and they can't even get a clap. Joke."

  • Keane drops bombshell

Roy Keane left Manchester United fans stunned after revealing he never had any bond with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Keane, 52, spent almost 13 years at Man Utd under Ferguson, joining in 1993 before departing in late 2005.

However, he has insisted he never had more than a professional relationship with any of the managers he played under.

While appearing on , Keane was asked about player relationship with managers. He said: "I think it depends on the personality of the manager and whoever the captain of the club might be.

"From my own experience when I've been captain I don't think it had to be any pals act. It never bothered me.

"I never had any cosy relationship with any of the managers I ever worked for, I just didn't believe in it. I didn't suit my personality."

  • Man Utd handed away clash

Erik ten Hag’s side have remarkably been drawn at home in the competition for the past three years.

However, that Old Trafford streak is now over after they were picked out to play League One Wigan Athletic away next month.

Last season’s finalists, who were beaten by Manchester City at Wembley, will travel to the Latics on the first weekend of January.

And some supporters were in complete disbelief after seeing United drawn away.

One joked: “Man Utd away in the 3rd round. Hasn’t happened since 1752. Proper end of days stuff.”

Another said: “Away draw on a cup that can’t be right Wigan v Man Utd.”

“The end must be near,” commented another before adding: “Utd getting drawn away just doesn’t happen.”

  • Fans say FA Cup draw is ‘fixed’

Arsenal fans reckon the FA Cup third round draw is “fixed” after landing a considerably harder tie than their rivals.

The Gunners will host Liverpool in the pick of the bunch.

Meanwhile, Chelsea welcome Preston North End, Manchester United travel to Wigan and City play Huddersfield at home.

It left some Gooners irked and believing the draw was “rigged” and “fixed.”

One said: “Arsenal vs Liverpool in FA cup third round draw! Whereas man united have Wigan away, Man City have Huddersfield. That is fixed.”

Another added: “Liverpool in the FA Cup third round. What a surprise. Another year, another rigged cup draw..”

One fumed: “This FA cup draw is rigged. What are the odds of playing City & Liverpool back to back years in the 3rd round.”

Another raged: “How about that. ANOTHER rigged FA Cup draw.”

  • Man Utd get first away draw in YEARS

Football fans claimed "the end is near" after Manchester United finally landed an away tie in the FA Cup.
