FORMER Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been criticised for an "embarrassing" dive during a friendly.
Pulisic, 25, captained the USA national team in an international friendly on Saturday.
The winger opened the scoring with a spectacular solo effort in the 27th minute after cutting inside from the left and skipping past four defenders.
However, just before breaking the deadlock, Pulisic attempted to win a penalty by diving in the box.
Having received the ball around 14 yards out from goal, the USA captain looked to make a run around Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
But he instead fell to the floor with barely any contact.
