Bodybuilder Christian Figueiredo dies at 29 after suffering stroke during surgery as heartbreaking tributes pour in

BODYBUILDER Christian Figueiredo has died aged 29 after suffering a stroke during an operation.

The tragic news of his death was announced by his heartbroken wife Vivi Torres on Instagram.

The 29-year-old Brazilian died after complications during liver surgery.

Vivi shared an emotional post where she shared the couple were about to celebrate their 11 year anniversary.

She mourned: "It will always be you! Forever. I love you and I will always love you.

"God took you close to Him, to a beautiful and safer place you deserve where he will give you tranquillity and peace."

Vivi said Christian taught her the "true meaning of marriage, partnership and love" and said the difficulties they faced brought them closer.

She continued: "I only have good memories of you. I love you and I will always love you Mo. What a pain my God. Rest in peace my love."

A friend of the bodybuilder told that "it was supposed to be a pretty simple surgery but there were complications."

Fellow bodybuilder Ricardo Alexandre Martins Correia, who was also at the hospital, said there was "nothing the doctors could do" to save his friend.

He said: "Chris needed the surgery but sadly had a stroke. They tried to prevent the bleeding from getting serious and then he had an unusual heart attack.

"The body went into shock. Sadly, there are things beyond our control.

"Life is like that, there are things out of our control. We lost a brother, a guy I will love forever."

Figueiredo was a pro bodybuilder who earned his Pro card in 2022 during the Musclecontest in Brazil.

Known for his incredible physique that featured, he was preparing to take on the IFBB in 2024.

His death comes as another Brazilian bodybuilder was brutally killed by two assassins during a training session.

Ex-bodybuilding champion Eustácio Batista was shot dead while he was training at a gym in Botucatu, São Paulo - and the horror moment was caught by CCTV.
