How Man Utd could line up under Graham Potter with ex-Chelsea and Brighton boss raiding old clubs in transfer market

GRAHAM POTTER could be in the dugout at Old Trafford before long and he may want some familiar faces representing him on the pitch.
The former Brighton and Chelsea boss is being lined up to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United by incoming investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe following a meeting between the pair.
And if the Dutch gaffer does head for the exit door then Potter will be the prime candidate for the role.
The 48-year-old didn’t last long during his time at Chelsea, but still managed to sign some big name players that he may fancy reuniting with.
While his three year spell at Brighton saw him sign some hidden gems that could prove useful assets at Man Utd.
Julio Enciso is a rising star in the Premier League at the moment and a switch to signing young promising players would suit the Red Devils as they enter their new chapter.

Potter signed Enciso for just £9.5million in 2022, but would have to fork out a lot more for the Seagulls to loosen their grip on the Paraguayan starlet.
Left back has been an issue in recent times for Man Utd with Luke Shaw’s injury problems causing more concern this season.
There’s few better full-backs around than Pervis Estupinan who was brought to the Amex by Potter in 2021.
A move to a Champions League side seems inevitable for the 25-year-old and perhaps reuniting with his old manager would be the way to do it.

If he's not an option, Marc Cucurella could be tempted to rejoin his former manager, who took him with him to Stamford Bridge last summer.
The big-haired Spaniard was linked with the Red Devils at the transfer deadline this summer before they eventually plumped to sign Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon on loan.
It’d be hard for Potter to lure away the biggest names he signed for Cheslea such as Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk, but there is one who stands out as an option for the Manchester giants.
With Antony yet to live up to his price tag and Jadon Sancho still exiled, Noni Madueke could excel down the right wing under his ex-gaffer.
It was Potter who brought the Englishman to Stamford Bridge and the promise of more regular game time could be appealing to the 21-year-old.
There is also the consideration of players wanted by Ratcliffe and his team.
Jean-Clair Tobido from his Nice side is said to be available for £44m and could come in as a replacement for Raphael Varane, who has been linked with the exit door.
Likewise, Monaco star Youssouf Fofana has been linked to try and bolster the Red Devils midfield considering the fall off displayed by Casemiro.
Of course the new additions would see established regulars at Man Utd forced into battles for starting sports, but that is often to the benefit of a top team.

Shaw would need to compete to earn his spot from Estupinan, while Mason Mount and Enciso would offer different qualities to a new look side at Old Trafford.
There would still be space for star men such as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, but Potter’s potential additions could help Man Utd get back to their best after a dismal start to the season.
