Conor McGregor would have his beard jabbed off by Floyd Mayweather according to the retired boxer’s father
Floyd Mayweather Sr says the Irish UFC star would be no match for his 49-0 son as they swap barbs online
CONOR MCGREGOR would get his trademark designer stubble jabbed off his face by Floyd Mayweather in the unlikely event they step in the ring, according to the boxing legend’s father.
The Irish MMA sensation is apparently taking time away from UFC after becoming a two-weight champion and learning he is to become a father for the first time. He has used his hiatus away from the octagon to successfully apply for a boxing license in the state of California.
Fight fans got excited over the news – helped along by the abuse they hurl at each other on social media – but the 49-0 five-weight world champion hasn’t boxed outside of gambling Mecca Las Vegas since 2005 and has no reason to break the habit.

Mayweather Snr, his son’s coach for many of his wins, dismissed McGregor initially - but gave him some credit for his recent demolitions of Jose Aldo and Eddie Alvarez – and insisted his boy is simply on a different level to the brash trash-talking Dubliner.
Mayweather told Fight Hub TV: “I think Conor McGregor is a talker and not a doer.
“Whatever he did in MMA, he’s not going to be able to get away with in boxing.
“I don’t think his fundamentals are bad. But they aren’t up there with the man, either.
“A jab would take care of his ass all day.
“All he’s going to be doing is trying to slide and get in. All Floyd’s going to do is be smooth.
“Floyd would tear him up, man. Even though Floyd is not a big puncher, Floyd can hit him with jabs and stuff all night, man, and cut him up.
“My son’s going to cut his beard for him.”
