A FORGOTTEN Manchester United flop’s career has gone from bad to worse after they were hauled off for an “inappropriate move” at half time.
This 29-year-old defender joined the Red Devils from Villarreal in 2016 and was a key figure under former managers Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He lifted both the League Cup and Europa League during hirst season at Old Trafford but a number of injury problems plagued him over recent years.
That led to him being shipped out on loan to Ligue 1 side Marseille in France last season after being deemed surplus to requirements by boss Erik Ten Hag.
This Ivory Coast international still had 12 months remaining on his £80,000-a-week deal when he was made available for transfer by United this summer.
He held talks to link up with former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr but that deal broke down.

However, it was Turkey where this player ended up heading to in order to try and resurrect his career as Besiktas announced his signing on a one-year contract.
The man in question is, of course, Eric Bailly - but things are not going exactly as planned at his new club.
Firstly, the man who signed him, Senol Gones, quit last month after the star’s own goal sealed a 3-2 defeat to Lugano in the Europa Conference League.
Burak Yilmaz is now in interim charge but Besiktas still sit rock bottom of Group D in Europe and are fifth in the Turkish Super Lig, 12 points behind leaders Galatasaray.

However, it was Bailly who found himself in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons today following Besiktas’ 3-2 defeat at Antalyaspor.
He was hauled off at the break following an on-field row with a team-mate that then seemingly escalated inside the dressing room.
Besiktas were leading at half time through Cenk Tosun but tempers still flared on the pitch after Bailly was captured on camera in a heated exchange with his team-mate Tayfur Bingol.
His time then collapsed after the break as they conceded three times in the first 12 minutes as Bailly watched from the bench.
And Yilmaz told afterwards: “There was a problem with Eric Bailly during the half-time. That's why I took him off.
“There is no injury situation. I took him out of the game due to an inappropriate move.”
