Raphael Varane ‘has been told why he’s been dropped by Erik ten Hag’ and will follow Harry Maguire’s Man Utd example
RAPHAEL VARANE was reportedly told that he was dropped from Manchester United's line-up due to tactical reasons - and he's fine with it.
The defender was benched for the Red Devil's 1-0 win over Luton Town on Saturday despite Jonny Evans' injury.
Varane, 30, was one of two options for manager Erik ten Hag to pick from to partner Harry Maguire.
The Dutchman however opted to give Victor Lindelof the starting position at Old Trafford.
The move proved to be the right decision as the Swede scored his first goal in three years to hand Man United the win over the Hatters.
Varane has not started for the club since the 3-0 defeat in the Manchester derby.

have now reported that the Frenchman has been told why he is not playing by Ten Hag.
It claims that the former Real Madrid star is out of favour due to tactical reasons.
The report continues to suggest that Varane has accepted the decision and is ready to fight for his spot.
Under the manager, there has always been a way back for players that have fallen out of favour.
The example of Harry Maguire has been used to evidence this as he is now a regular back in the team despite looking like he would leave in the summer.
Should Varane want to earn his spot back then he will have to prove he is deserving in training and when called upon in games.
Some fans had claimed that there was "beef" between Varane and Ten Hag during the Champions League clash with Copenhagen.
Varane has even been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent weeks as clubs from Saudi Arabia look to make a move.
