NOO KID ON THE BLOCK

Why Kobbie Mainoo’s ‘outstanding’ full Man Utd debut could help Sir Jim Ratcliffe make ruthless decision

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was not a fan of one Man United signing

KOBBIE MAINOO's impressive full debut for Manchester United could help Sir Jim Ratcliffe make a ruthless decision.

The midfielder starred for the Red Devils during their 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

Mainoo, 18, was hailed by pundits as "outstanding" with Gary Neville even insisting that he would be wanted by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Another United legend, Roy Keane, labelled Mainoo as "unbelievable" as he praised the teenager's all-round performance.

Should the academy product continue to impress then potential minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe could sell Casemiro.

The British billionaire is expected to complete his partial takeover of the club and take control of the football operations going forward.

One part of this will be to influence the incoming and outgoing of playing staff.

Ratcliffe is believed not to be keen on Casemiro and will put him up for sale in January.

The former Real Madrid star only arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 as part of a £70million transfer.

However, this season the 31-year-old's form has dropped and could find himself behind Mainoo in the pecking order.

Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

Mainoo had not featured previously this season due to an ankle injury that he picked up in pre-season.

He made his debut for United last season during the EFL Cup win over Charlton at Old Trafford.

It is thought that Mainoo could become a star of the club's midfield for years to come should he continue to develop.

This would in turn allow United to cash in on Casemiro with a ready-made replacement already in Erik ten Hag's squad.
