Ten Hag slammed by Man Utd fans for ‘criminal’ subs against Galatasaray – and stats show they’re right to be annoyed
MANCHESTER UNITED fans slammed Erik ten Hag's substitutions as their side's 3-3 draw with Galatasaray put them on the brink of a Champions League exit.
And the stats prove the four players brought on had VERY little impact on the match as the Red Devils threw away two crucial points.
Man Utd spurned leads of 2-0 and 3-1 on a thrilling night in Turkey.
It means they are now relying on beating Bayern Munich AND results going their way in the final round of fixtures if they are to reach the knockout stages.
And the Old Trafford faithful took umbrage with Ten Hag's second-half changes after they were pegged back in Europe.
Three minutes after Scott McTominay had put Man Utd 3-1 up, Sofyan Amrabat and Rasmus Hojlund were replaced by Kobbie Mainoo and Anthony Martial shortly before the hour mark.

Galatasaray then scored twice in nine minutes, before Ten Hag made two more substitutions.
Alejandro Garnacho, who scored the opener, was taken off for Facundo Pellistri.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was also replaced by Diogo Dalot at right-back.
These received much criticism in the wake of the result as Man Utd fans took to social media to vent their frustration.

One said: "Ten Hag's subs at that point in the game were criminal."
Another replied: "Ten Hag's subs left a lot to be desired here."
A third added: "Rasmus and Amrabat were cooking. Ten Hag made those subs way too early."
While a fourth responded: "Ten Hag's subs and Onana have absolutely killed us tonight."
And the stats demonstrate that the supporters have a right to feel aggrieved.
The momentum graphic for the game shows Galatasaray assumed control of the match on the hour mark - moments after Amrabat and Hojlund were taken off.
Meanwhile, despite being given more than 30 minutes on the pitch, Martial, 27, had just TWO touches in the Galatasaray box - and 16 in total.
He also failed to have a SINGLE shot.
But the other Man Utd players that came off the bench also failed to cover themselves in glory.
Pellistri, 21, cut inside and opted to play a pass on four occasions, rather than attempting to take on his man.
He also had three shots - including a great chance to win the match late on - but failed to convert any of them.
Dalot misplaced three of the seven passes he played after coming on as Wan-Bissaka's replacement.

And Kobbie Mainoo also struggled to find his feet in the frantic match.
The 18-year-old impressed against Everton at the weekend, but his touch map in the Galatasaray draw shows just how stretched he was in the latter stages.
