  • Arteta not encouraged from City's form

Mikel Arteta has admitted that he is not focused on Manchester City's dip in form that has seen them draw their last three matches in the Prem.

Arteta however is more focused on Arsenal.

    He said: "Encouragement? No.

"Encouragement comes from watching my team play and watching how they behave every single day, how hungry and willing they are to play every single game, the way they approach every single training session.

    "That’s what gives me encouragement.

"What the others do is something we cannot control.

  • Arteta on Luton

Mikel Arteta has insisted that Luton Town have been better than their position in the Premier League table suggests.

He said: "I think they are a really good team and probably the table does not reflect what they have done in many games.

"The way they have lost games or drew games as well in five minutes during the final stages of games.

    "As I say, it probably doesn’t reflect that, but it’s a difficult game, that’s for sure.";

  • Arteta relishing Kenilworth Road visit

Mikel Arteta has hailed Kenilworth Road as an "inspiring place" and is looking forward to Arsenal's visit to the Luton ground.

He said: "I would say it is an inspiring place.

"I think what they've done is remarkable with what Rob did with the team last year, the way they did it and what they transmitted as a team.

"We are neighbours and we’re always very close to here so it's just an amazing story.

"They fully deserve all the credit they are getting, from last year as well as the way they are playing this season.

"Some of the results that they have got and in the games that they've played, they’ve been extremely close so tomorrow we're going to have a really intense and difficult match."

  • Arteta hails double centurion

Mikel Arteta has hailed Bukyao Saka for making his 200th appearance for the Gunners ahead of the clash against Luton Town.

He said: "That’s not bad at his age!

"It’s gone really fast but it shows again the consistency and the availability that he has had over the last few years.

"It has been tremendous and the impact that he's had in the team has been really positive."

  • 'I hate that he plays for Arsenal' - Maddison

James Maddison has admitted that he "hates" that Declan Rice plays for Arsenal.

The Tottenham midfielder claimed that Rice has "everything" but wishes that he did not play for the Gunners.

He said: "He’s got everything. He’s technically really good.

"He is a joke when it comes to low-cut passes.

"I think he’s a top, top player, I hate that he plays for Arsenal."

  • Keane give Arsenal title verdict

Roy Keane has put his neck on the line with a new Premier League title prediction and says Arsenal could win it.

Keane, 52, is concerned City do not have the ";hunger" to be frontrunners but will not bet against a side who have won the last three titles.

He said on Sky Sports: "I certainly wouldn't bet against Man City, but I am starting to become doubtful about City winning that title.

"There's a reason it hasn't been won four years in a row because keeping those levels up, that hunger, desire, you get a few injuries, some of the top boys coming off it.

"But certainly Arsenal and Liverpool I'm looking at, especially Arsenal with the strength and depth they've got and the experience of last year."

  • Better news for White

Mikel Arteta has also given an update on Ben White.

He said: "After his injury and the way we decided to manage his load, he's feeling perfect and back to fitness.

“He played some minutes and he's now in a good place.”

  • Tomiyasu update

Mikel Arteta has given an update on Takehiro Tomiyasu after the defender took a knock against Wolves.

He said: "We assessed him after the game, we took him off as a precaution so we'll wait.

"Whether it's useful to use him or not, we will decide tomorrow.

"He’s a strong boy and hopefully he'll be fine."

  • O'Neil slams Arsenal

Gary O'Neil has slammed Arsenal's tactics during their 2-1 win against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.

The Wanderers boss accused the Gunners of deliberately wasting time in the closing stages of his team's defeat on Saturday.

He told beIN Sport: "I just thought Arsenal took ages over the restarts at the end.

"I was told we were going to 98 because there was a long stoppage in added time but they had three restarts and they took 45 seconds with each.

"I felt at the time it could have been extended slightly because we’re trying to clamp down on timewasting.

"Sometimes you don’t expect Arsenal to be time-wasting but I am sure if we had taken as long over some of the throws and restarts away at the Emirates we would have been receiving yellow cards.

"No criticism of Arsenal, if it was me I would’ve had my team taking their time at that moment as well.

“We’re seeing a lot of people booked for delaying restarts and didn’t feel like we got the time we thought we should’ve had.”
