At full-time, Pickford, 29, was involved in an argument with Newcastle stars who were not happy with his behaviour.

But during the game, the former Sunderland ace made a rude gesture with his foreman towards the travelling fans.

Pickford made the gesture after Dwight McNeil's opening goal of the game.

The former Burnley man pounced on an error from Kieran Trippier and fired past Martin Dubravka.

Pickford enjoyed the goal as he was seen knee-sliding in celebration before proceeding to make the gesture.

The gesture is known as either the Italian salute or Iberian slap - and is likened to saying "f*** o**".

The row at the end of the game saw a total of 13 players clash with eachother.

Pickford had to be taken away by his team-mates while Joelinton was pulled away by Newcastle's coaching staff.

There is not a lot of love between the Magpies and the England stopper.

Pickford was at Newcastle's arch-rivals Sunderland for his youth career and the start of his senior career starting in 2002.

He eventually left the club in 2017 as he moved to Everton for £30million following the Black Cats' relegation to the Championship.
