UFC 296: Tony Ferguson faces calls to RETIRE after SEVENTH loss in a row as MMA fans all say same thing

The MMA legend suffered six losses in a row before taking to the octagon at UFC 296

TONY FERGUSON faced fresh calls to retire from mixed martial arts after his UFC 296 defeat.

The former interim lightweight champion locked horns with the Brit prospect Paddy Pimblett on the main card of a stacked in Las Vegas early this morning.

The fan favourite entered the contest on the back of a SIX-FIGHT losing streak, a run which prompted many to urge the MMAlegend to hang up his gloves.

And fans called for just that after he failed to stop the rot against 'The Baddy' - who beat him via unanimous decision in their Sin City showdown.

One UFC fan said: "I think it's time for Tony Ferguson to retire."

Another said: "Tony Ferguson plz retire bro.:"

Despite his three-year-long skid, Ferguson was confident of doing a number on Pimblett.

During Friday's pre-fight press conference, he said: "It's going to go the way I want.

"I’ve already visualized it, I've trained my ass off, I don't see this kid beating me,” Ferguson said.

"He's worried about me blocking him on Instagram, sensitive little b******.

"Wait until you get cut, see your own blood, you're gonna run out of the cage back to mummy."
