Mohamed Salah will miss crucial games in Liverpool's title challenge as the winger will likely captain Egypt at Afcon 2023.

The 31-year-old star will be determined to end his country's 14-year wait for continental success, having lost on penalties to Senegal in the 2021 final.

Manchester United will also be left without a goalkeeper with Andre Onana set to appear in between the sticks for Cameroon - Erik ten Hag will be forced to turn to Altay Bayindir.
